I made this stamp a long while ago. I don't have anything against British English, but hey, I'm American! :flagus: :w00t:

What I think is strange about dA is that it's an American site, but they use British English spelling (i.e. favourite instead of favorite). I guess it's B-) being global in that way. What do you think?

I do find the extra u in some words a bit odd. Then again, I'm not British, but American. :D

Yeah, like the word odor in American English is odour in British English. Now that's odd.

I guess I'm the only one who doesn't find it odd because "American" English basically is and derived from "British" English.

This coming from someone stuck in America, so no, not biased.

And saying DA is an "American site"...I guess the language options and where you sign up from should be limited to the US, too.

I use any of the versions interchangeably because I really don't give a crap, I just found this pretty ridiculous when the origins are in the very name of the language (granted, English uses words from other languages and in turn came from older languages, but in this case, both are basically the same- only differences seem to be more localized, and even then some things have different names within the same country- "soda" and "pop", etc).

Yeah, I never really got why they don't use the US spelling either, being based in the US and all...

Maybe it's because it's your fav.. Or maybe it's our's...

And is it true that us Americans have no sense of humour, only a sense of humor? Puzzling...

My spell checker (Google) goes all bonkers when I type any of those words with the u. :p

I don't know where I am

It's the French seeping into the British and into the Canadian English. But of course that started 100's of years ago.

Spelling is such a funny thing.
